Transferring Credit to Tulane University
Submitting Official Transcripts
Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended must be submitted to the Office of the University Registrar. Transfer credit will be evaluated and awarded only for coursework documented on an official transcript from the institution that originally awarded the credit.
Tulane University will not accept unofficial copies of transcripts. Official Transcripts must be sent directly to Tulane by the issuing institution or an approved third-party service, such as Parchment or the National Student Clearinghouse. Transcripts may also be mailed or hand-delivered in an unopened, sealed envelope from the issuing institution.
Official transcripts sent via FedEx, UPS, or another delivery service should be mailed to the physical address below. If an email address is required for electronic transcript delivery, please use [EMAIL ADDRESS].
Processing Official Transcripts
Students should allow up to 7 business days for official transcripts to be processed after receipt by the Transfer Hub.
Courses with established equivalencies will be articulated to the student’s academic record. The Transfer Hub will apply established equivalencies and delegated academic-unit guidance. Courses requiring academic judgment or falling outside delegated guidance will be referred to the appropriate academic unit. Once evaluated, eligible transfer credit will be posted to the student’s academic record and reflected in Degree Works.
Transfer Credit Equivalencies
Tulane University maintains a searchable database of previously evaluated transfer courses. Because not every transferable course is listed, the absence of a course does not mean it will not transfer.
If your course is not listed, submit an evaluation request through the Transfer Hub. Include the institution name and location, course ID and title, and any available supporting documentation. A Transfer Credit Specialist will review your request and notify you of the Tulane equivalency.
Transfer Credit Grades
Courses in which a grade of C or better was not earned are not eligible for transfer and will not be posted to the student’s academic record.
Grades earned at other institutions are recorded to reflect the official transcript but are not included in the Tulane GPA.
Students may not select which eligible courses are transferred.
Please refer to the Undergraduate Transfer Credit Policy in the Academic Catalog for more complete information regarding the evaluation and application of transfer credit.

Tulane University may award undergraduate credit for examinations approved by the student’s school or college, subject to applicable academic policies. Eligible examinations, minimum scores, credit limits, course equivalencies, and applicability may vary by undergraduate school, college, or academic program. Official examination results must be submitted directly by the testing service or other authorized provider.
