The Office of the University Registrar will be closed beginning at noon on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 until Monday, January 5, 2026 for our annual Winter Break. Yellow Ribbon Application

2025-26 Academic Year Yellow Ribbon Guidelines

  • Students must be receiving Chapter 33, Post 9/11 benefits at 100%
  • The maximum participants for graduate students enrolled in The School of Public Health is capped at 10; these students are eligible to receive $1,000.00 per year
  • The maximum participants for graduate students enrolled in A.B. Freeman School of Business (New Orleans) is capped at 20; these students are eligible to receive $25,000.00 per year
  • The maximum participants and contribution amount for graduates enrolled in The School of Professional Advancement is unlimited.
  • The maximum undergraduate participants in The School of Professional Advancement is unlimited; these students are eligible to receive $10,000.00 per year.
  • The maximum participants for all others (graduate/professionals) students excluding Graduate Business, and Graduate Public Health is capped at 8; these students are eligible to receive $1,000.00 per year.
  • The maximum participants for undergraduates enrolled in Newcomb-Tulane is capped at 23; these students are eligible to receive $4,000.00 per year

  • These amounts are matched by the VA; this program will be made available after you have exhausted the VA annual cap of $28,937.09

Statement of Understanding

  • I have applied for the Post 9/11 GI Bill and will submit the Certificate of Eligibility to the Office of the Registrar/VA Representative by the start of my academic term. Failure to submit this certificate will result in my removal from the Yellow Ribbon Program participation list.
  • I understand that the Department of Veterans Affairs formally establishes eligibility for the Post 9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program and that this Request for Participation is contingent on Department of Veteran Affairs’ approval for such benefits.
  • I believe I am eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill at the 100% level, one condition for participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program.
  • I am currently or will be enrolled and a degree-seeking Tulane University (TU) student during the year.
  • I acknowledge that Yellow Ribbon Program funds are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, measured from the date this Request for Participation is received by TU.
  • I understand that submission of this form does not guarantee my admittance to the Yellow Ribbon Program.
  • I understand that TU will not continue to hold my spot in the Yellow Ribbon Program if I am required to reapply for admission to TU.
  • I understand that TU is not required to continue making Yellow Ribbon Program contributions if I am not in good academic standing.
  • I understand that I must reapply for this program each year on August 1st, and that the terms of TU's Yellow Ribbon Program participation may change each year (including non-participation)
  • I understand that the Yellow Ribbon money is not paid until the annual VA cap has been reached.
