Sweet sentiments are expressed in a valentine from the Eleanor P. Thompson collection in the Louisiana Research Collection. Not much is known about Thompson, except that she lived between 1853 and 1933. Her collection preserves material pertaining to the social and business life of New Orleans from the 1850s through the 1930s. It includes material on fairs, expositions, balls, receptions, concerts, theater performances, social and religious organizations, dedications, women's fashions, souvenir booklets, maps and business advertisements. The Louisiana Research Collection acquired her papers in 1958.
